Arsen Atayan, B.A. in Business ‘25

2020 Artsakh War Participant

Arsen Atayan was born and raised in Stepanakert, Artsakh and fought in the 2020 Artsakh War. When it was time to choose a career path, he decided to study business. He was impressed by the community and culture of AUA, and upon returning from the army, he began his education at the University.

“I took part in the 2020 Artsakh War,” he recalls. “When I returned and started my education at AUA, I had to work to improve my English skills. The AUA community was very welcoming and I’d like to emphasize the important role of professors and teaching assistants who helped me get on track.”

Currently, Arsen is interning at AmCham — American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia, which is an independent business association promoting U.S., foreign, and local investments in Armenia to create a more favorable business climate. He is also going to participate in a student exchange program at the University of Murcia in Spain during the Spring 2023 semester. His ambitious goals involve continuing his education with a master’s degree at AUA and contributing his knowledge and experience to developing Artsakh. “I will do my best to restore my homeland and its economy,” he says. “In this challenging situation, it is important for Armenia and Artsakh to build a strong economy, which will help finance the military services.”
