Narek Shahajanyan, B.A. in Business ‘25

Manoogian Simone Foundation Scholarship

Narek Shahjahanyan is from Stepanakert, Artsakh and always knew he wanted to be a student at AUA. Fascinated by the University’s environment and opportunities, Narek looked forward to meeting new people, exchanging ideas, and expanding his horizons. “AUA gives me everything I was looking for,” notes Narek. “I am interested in economics, and in a short amount of time, I have managed to strengthen my soft skills and develop an entrepreneurial mindset at AUA.”

Sporting a wide range of interests, Narek explores every opportunity he encounters. During the summer break, he interned at BDO Armenia, a business consulting organization. He would also like to work as an accountant or auditor in the near future.

While still a sophomore, he already has ambitious goals connected with his homeland, which he plans to realize upon graduating from AUA. “I would like to start my own business in the field of IT,” he says. “It is a great way to enhance the development of the tech industry in Armenia and Artsakh, as well as benefit the economy. Most importantly, it will offer great opportunities for the younger generation in Artsakh, which has gone through a lot over the last few years. They deserve a chance to realize their dreams and develop professionally.”
